{Patriot Play}

This month was our school's Patriot Play.

K and E are part of the Lower Grammar so they did not have major roles, since they did in the Thanksgiving Production, but they both sang and K recited a section of the Declaration of Independence with his class.

This picture shows my 1st Grade class on the front room, E is on the far right middle row & K is the far left top row.

We always love to see them perform and do their best!

{K Webelos}

This past pack meeting (also blue and gold) K earned his Webelos rank.

He hates to be the center of attention at these things so being in front of everyone getting his face painted does not rank high on his favorite things.

We are excited for him though and he is always looking towards earning his Eagle, which will be a great accomplishment.

{Valetine's Presents}

The boys wrapped the presents to their dad. I think they looked very good and you couldn't guess what was in them from that shape!!

And then they did their Valentines Scavenger Hunt that I do for them each year.

At the end of the  hunt was this.....

Random household items thrown in a box right?

Wrong. It is all the stuff you need for some games from the show "Minute to Win It" which the boys LOVE!

So now we can be found looking like this many times a week.....

Can you stack 3 golf balls in under 60 seconds?
How about roll marbles and get 5 to stick to tape on the edge of the table?
Stack 33 cups and then unstack them?
Come to our house and give it a try!

{the chocolate continues}

For the 3rd Valentines day in a row we celebrated with Chocolate Fondue for dessert with the boys.

It is a fun small tradition and is an excuse for dessert in this house, where dessert is not a "normal" thing.

{stocking up}

So I do this crazy coupon shopping. And the boys know that some days I will come home with a TON of one item because it "was a good deal" or free.

So when we went to Walmart after Christmas looking for something for K and they announced "all Christmas items are 25 cents" They knew it was going to be exciting!

In the end we had 2 carts overflowing with items. And we spent under 25 dollars.

We are stocked up on wrapping paper and boxes for at least two years and we have all kinds of fun things for next year. I mean really how can you pass up such great deals!!

E with both of our carts in line and by the way it took us 30 minutes just to check out...like 30 minutes of us putting stuff on the counter and the lady ringing up our stuff...that is bad!

{A February Treat}

As soon as these show up in the stores they are in our house.

Filling up a small dessert cup that has to be refilled each night.

These are one of my favorite candies and luckily they are only available a few months of the year because we eat about 2-3 bags a week. E is genuinely sad when the little cup is almost empty and so happy when it is filled again.

But we all love them and Valentines day wouldn't be complete without them!

{An Honor}

One of our friends and our boys' Cub Scout Pack Leader, was sworn in as a judge in January after winning the election in November.

He asked the Pack if they would be willing to miss a few hours of school and do the flag ceremony at the ceremony.

The boys did an excellent job. I think about 9 of them actually participated and were able to present our nation's flag and pledge in front of the audience.

This picture shows K, carrying the Nevada State Flag, while crossing in front of the Supreme Court of Nevada. Also in attendance were the senators from our state and congressmen.

It was a great experience for K and E. (And unfortunately, for them, they didn't miss school because it was already a day off for them.)

Another of the boys waiting for their cue.
